They are weaned onto fruits and veggies, a soak and sprout mix we make here in store, high variety seed that we also make here in store, and naturally colored pellet. Every hand fed baby is weaned on to a high variety diet. Prior to taking a bird home, we will provide information on proper housing, creating a safe environment, diet, behavior, hormones and much more. We offer pick up at the store in Stroudsburg PA 18360. Ideally, the minimum cage size for this bird would be 36’’ long, 24’’ wide and 66’’ high with ¾’’ wire spacing. Bare Eyes may be one of the smaller species of cockatoos but they have an enormous personality.
Cockatoos require caging that can house lots of toys, perching and activities. A Bare Eyed would do well in a home that can offer lots of time and affection. They are goofy, playful and very high energy birds. Would be great to find a home with a smaller cockatoo already so they can be buddies. Some cockatoo or parrot experience can be helpful.
